Once home to the Bethesda Youth Center, this building fell into disrepair after it closed in 1970, but our creative clients and McInturff Architects envisioned a new life for it.

They conceived of a bright, modern space that would be the locus of literary creation, expression and dissemination. We were pleased to lead the transformation of this building, including the addition of light-filled classrooms, a writer’s studio, a coffee lounge and private workstations. We returned to the Writer’s Center two years after the first project to renovate the first floor office suite and reinvigorate the front facade.
