This Bethesda home is an oft-replayed and familiar story with a twist.

Our clients purchased a small home near BCC High School and demolished it. But rather than erect a McMansion, they hired McInturff Architects to design a modest contemporary home that would also provide studio space for the owner’s painting and sculpture work. The house takes advantage of the economies of standard building materials and rectilinear design but surprises with peek-a-boo transitions between spaces and pops of bright color.
